Doctor's bag

Modern practice recommends that the best place for a patient to be examined, investigated and treated is in the surgery. We will visit patients who are seriously ill, are bedbound or terminally ill. Please call before 10.00am and give the receptionist some indication of the details of the illness. If you are uncertain, ring for advice. Such information helps the doctor to assess the priority of the visits. Urgent home visits can be rung in at any time. You may be offered a telephone appointment by either a doctor or nurse practitioner if deemed necessary.

Please note that under National Guidelines we do not visit for sickness and diarrhoea, back pains or children unless included in the above groups.

Please do not request a home visit if you are able to get to the surgery.
